Moving to Mexico?

Mexico offers both metropolitan areas and quieter rural areas. The culture is rich with traditions and festivals, the cuisine is unique, and the entertainment options are plentiful. You might want to retire in Mexico, own a vacation home, or just relocate for a different way of life. Many people love the low cost of living - you can live in Mexico for much less than in the states. Let's explore many things you'll love about living in Mexico, along with how to find Mexico moving companies.

Moving to Mexico will be an adventure!

Living the Good Life in Mexico

Variety of Destinations

Mexico is a big country. Just like the variety in the United States, Mexico offers all of that variety as well. From beachside condos to big city life, you can find any destination you desire. Some popular areas Ensenada, Baja California; Guadalajara, Jalisco; Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo; and Merida, Yucatan.

Mexico Weather

Mexico really has two main seasons: rainy and dry. The rainy season is typically May through late September. The rest of the year there is hardly any rain. June through November is hurricane season, so if you are moving to a region prone to hurricanes, you'll want to familiarize yourself with safety precautions and evacuation routes. Regional temperatures vary. Northern Mexico has warm summer temperatures with occasional snowfall in winter. Central Mexico has spring-like weather year round. High temps are in the 70s, and nighttime lows fall into the high 40s and 50s. Coastal regions have warmer temps, with summer highs reaching into the upper 90s. Southern Mexico is similar to Central Mexico, but higher elevations are much cooler. The Yucatan is close to sea level, so temperatures are much higher than even the coastal areas.

Mexico Culture

One of the best parts of moving to Mexico is the culture. Many things make up Mexican culture: religion, art, and cuisine. The Catholic religion influences Mexican culture with its traditions and architecture. Local art reflects the folk traditions of indigenous people, with pottery, rugs, and baskets being popular. Mexican cuisine blends native influences with European culture. Popular dishes include some familiar to you, like tacos and enchiladas, along with more local cuisine like pozole. Traditional ingredients like avocados, peppers, and maize are common in many dishes.  You can even find world cuisines made with a Mexican influence, like sushi made with mango and tamarind! You'll have a world of new tastes to explore after moving to Mexico!

Sports in Mexico

Locals love sports. Football (soccer) likely comes to mind as a popular sport, and most states have their own football teams. Bullfighting is also popular, with the largest bullfighting venue in the world in Mexico City. It seats 48,000 people! The traditional national sport is Charreria, which is a series of equestrian events.
