Fort Smith, Arkansas (September 21, 2004) —

ABF Freight System, Inc., has joined the crew of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, providing freight transportation and logistical support for this unique home improvement series.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is broadcast Sundays at 8/7c on the ABC Television Network. Each episode features an entire house being completely renovated in seven days by a team of designers and craftsmen directed by team leader and carpenter Ty Pennington.

“Put together one very run-down house, a deserving family, several opinionated designers, seven days and what do you get? The answer is Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” says Marsha Smith, ABC Television Network Media Relations.

The show chronicles the production team's effort to transform the homes of deserving families confronting difficult circumstances: a man called into service in Iraq must leave his wife and three sons behind in a recently purchased fixer-upper house; a freak storm floods the home of a selfless humanitarian of modest means; a couple with two young children learn they have triplets on the way.

An upcoming episode includes the difficult task of razing a family's house and building a new one from the foundation up. The mother had been killed by a gang member's stray bullet, prompting the oldest son to take in his five siblings. Since he and his wife already had four young children of their own, he moved the 11-member family into a major fixer-upper built in 1905. Another upcoming episode features the three-bedroom house of a widower who cares for eight children, ages six to 18.

“Everyone at ABF applauds the altruistic aspects of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” says ABF President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Davidson. “Naturally, we're very proud to provide freight transportation and logistical support for production of the show.”
