Texas music— a song for practically every city!
Though it didn't include any Texas music, you've already seen us post a list of the best moving away songs.  Upbeat tunes can really get you going, and I think it's essential to keeping the energy up during a stressful move.  So if you're moving to Texas, naturally you'll need some true-blue Texas music to prepare for your new surroundings.  (This may seem obvious, but 'Texas music' typically refers to country/western or 'outlaw country' styles, although the 'Texas Red Dirt' genre is quickly gaining popularity.)  Here are just a few tracks to get you started:

  • Amarillo By Morning— George Strait
  • Galveston— Glen Campbell
  • Streets of Laredo— Buck Owens
  • Luckenbach, Texas (Basics of Love)— Waylon Jennings
  • Dallas— Alan Jackson
  • San Antonio Rose— Willie Nelson
  • Brownsville Girl— Bob Dylan
  • Dallas Days and Fort Worth Nights— Chris LeDoux
  • Home To Houston— Steve Earle
  • Corpus Christi Bay— Robert Earl Keen
  • Wichita Falls Blues— T-Bone Walker
  • Abilene— Waylon Jennings
  • Texarkana Baby— Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys
  • Waco – Lorne Greene
  • Lubbock or Leave It— The Dixie Chicks
  • El Paso— Marty Robbins
  • Red and Rio Grande— Doug Supernaw
  • Austin— Blake Shelton

Texas music definitely lives up to its name— did you notice each song mentions a specific city in Texas?  U-Pack has 18 service centers in the state, nearly all of which are named in the list above.  To round out the list, there's also a U-Pack location in Winters, Tyler, Beaumont, Sherman, and Odessa, Texas.  That means that no matter where you're moving to in Texas, U-Pack can help you move easy.  Having so many service centers in Texas can also help you cut down on your moving expenses; choose to load/unload at a local service center to save even more $$.  For a free moving quote, call 800-413-4799
