Hometowns of the USA Olympic Team

The Olympic buzz is building with the opening ceremony just days away. Before the Winter Games begin, find out a little bit about some stars to watch, including where they're from. We have some interesting Olympic facts, including some possible record-setters, the youngest members of Team USA, and what some of the athletes do for a living outside of their sport. Find out about the USA Olympic Team, and see if you're moving to the same place as these Olympians! Get ready to cheer them on to gold.

Get to Know The US Olympic Athletes

Jeremy Abbot - Figure Skating. Born in Aspen, CO, and now living in Detroit, MI, Jeremy placed first in the short program at the 2014 US Championship. He's one to watch for sure.

Aaron Blunck- Men's Freeskiing, Halfpipe. At 17 years old, he's one of the younger members of Team USA. Aaron grew up skiing as his mom and grandpa were ski instructors in his hometown of Crested Butte, CO!

Jason Brown - Figure Skating. Jason is just 19 years old, but he demonstrated such stage presence that he won over the audience at the US Championship. His hometown of Highland Park, IL will be watching as he competes for gold.

Tim Burke - Biathlon. This Lake Placid, NY native is looking to be the first US biathlete to reach the podium since 1987. This event combines skiing and shooting.

Julie Chu - Hockey. Julie is making an appearance in her fourth Olympics. She hails from Fairfield, CT.

Davis Meryl Davis and Charlie White - Ice Dancing. These two time world champions are looking for gold! They have been skating together since 1997. They live in West Bloomfield and Ann Arbor, MI, respectively.

Shani Davis - Speed Skating. This Chicago, IL resident is attempting to make Olympic history by taking gold in the same event for three consecutive winter Olympics.

Polina Edmunds - Figure Skating. At 15 years old, she is one of the youngest members of the US Olympic team. When she isn't training, Polina attends school in her hometown of San Jose, CA.

Gracie Gold - Figure Skating. While Gracie is from Springfield, MO, she trains all over the US wherever her coaches are.

Taylor and Arielle Gold - Snowboarding and Halfpipe. These siblings from Steamboat Springs, CO are competing to bring home gold medals.

Sarah Hendrickson - Women's Ski Jumping. This Park City, UT native is hoping to bring home the first gold medal in Women's Ski Jumping as this event makes its Olympic debut.

Jeff Isaacson - Curling. When he's not competing in the Olympics, Jeff is a science teacher at Gilbert Junior High School in Virginia, MN.

Lolo Jones - Bobsled. Yes, THAT Lolo Jones! After trying for gold in the Summer Olympics, this hurdles sprinter has turned to the bobsled! Lolo is from Baton Rouge, LA, which is rare for a winter Olympian, as Baton Rouge doesn't get much traditional winter weather.

Patrick Kane - Hockey. Kane is originally from Buffalo, NY but lives in Chicago where he plays for the Blackhawks. He's earned two Stanley Cups and was named the NHL's playoff MVP; now he has his sights set on Olympic gold.

Hannah Kearney - Mogul Skiing. Hannah hails from Norwich, VT, and she is hoping to become the first woman to win consecutive gold medals in freestyle skiing.

Ted Ligety - Skiing. Ted earned 3 gold medals at the 2013 World Championship, but he is best known for his JC Penny commercial where he remixes Blackstreet's "No Diggety" with "Go Ligety." He lives in Park City, UT.

Bode Miller - Skiing. Bode is the most decorated Olympic skier in American History. His hometown is Carrabassett Valley, ME.

Heather Richardson - Speed Skating. This West Valley, UT resident has a chance to medal in 500m, 1000m, and 15000m races.

John Shuster - Curling. Off the rink, John lives and manages a Pickwick restaurant in Duluth, MN.

Lindsey Vann - Ski Jumping. From Park City, UT, Lindsey is going for the gold at this inaugural Olympic event. Shem won inaugural ski jumping championship, so she is poised to reach the podium.

Ashley Wagner - Figure Skating. The Aliso Viejo, CA native is the reigning US Champion.

Shaun White - Snowboarding. Shaun is poised to become the first American man to win gold in the same event at three consecutive games (along with Shani Davis). The Carlsbad, CA resident is also competing in the first slopestyle competition with the event making its Olympic debut in 2014.
