- Cross-country and long-distance moves: at least 8-12 weeks ahead of moving date. The shortest recommended timeframe is typically 2-3 weeks out.
- Local and in-state moves: 4-6 weeks ahead of moving date. The shortest recommended timeframe is typically 1-2 weeks out.
The sooner you reserve, the more likely a company will be able to meet your moving timeline. This is especially true for moves to places like Hawaii, Alaska, Canada or Puerto Rico or during busy summer months or holidays.
