Charlotte’s population of 751,087 is much larger than Cincinnati’s population of 296,943; however, the Cincinnati metropolitan area has a population of over 2.1 million. Fortunately, Cincinnati and Charlotte aren’t very far from each other, so driving from Charlotte to Cincinnati should only take you about eight hours (477 miles from each other). On your way, you’ll be passing through the beautiful landscapes of Kentucky which will provide some lovely scenery for your short drive!
Cincinnati’s Weather
Although Charlotte and Cincinnati aren’t far from each other, they have slightly different weather. On average, Cincinnati is cooler than Charlotte throughout the year but especially in the winters. Cincinnati experiences cold and snowy winters with average low temperatures in the low 20s and an annual average of about 22.1 inches of snow. In the summers, Cincinnati is hot and humid with average high temperatures in the mid-80s and ones that occasionally exceed 90 F. Cincinnati also receives a fair amount of precipitation each year with an average of 42.5 inches.
Cincinnati’s Transportation
Driving is the preferred method of commuting in Cincinnati. If you choose to drive when moving from Charlotte to Cincinnati, it should be similar to what you’re already used to. Cincinnati is served by several interstates and U.S. Routes that make driving around the city a breeze! If you’d rather take public transportation, it may be a little bit harder for you in Cincinnati than it was in Charlotte. The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) provides the city with public transportation. However, right now, all that SORTA offers are buses, but there are several routes that go throughout the city for your convenience.
Cincinnati’s Education
When moving from Charlotte to Cincinnati, whether you’re looking for public, private or higher education, you’ll find the best schools available in Cincinnati! Cincinnati is one of the top cities that have the highest private school attendance rates. It is home to quite a variety of different private schools including many affiliated with the Catholic Church as well as Christian schools, Jewish schools and secular schools. Additionally, public education in Cincinnati is provided by several different school districts, the largest being Cincinnati Public Schools. Cincinnati is also home to many great colleges and universities such as the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University.
Cincinnati’s Recreation
Even though Charlotte is a really fun city, you’ll still have so much fun when moving from Charlotte to Cincinnati! If you love sports, you’ll love living in Cincinnati! Cincinnati is home to the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball and the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League.
