How to Move from Anderson
Anderson is situated at the foothills of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains in the western corner of South Carolina. Nicknamed “Electric City,” it was the first city in the U.S. to have a continuous electric power supply. The city has excellent schools, and plenty of dining and entertainment options, which made it a great place to live, work and raise a family. But, if plans have changed and you need to move away from Anderson, U-Pack® can help. With our DIY service, you’ll save money by doing the packing, loading and unloading. And, you’ll save time and stress by letting us handle the driving!
Things to Do Before You Go
You’ve lived here for a while, and have seen and done just about everything. But is there something you haven’t done or wished you’d done more while you lived here? Now’s your chance! Here are some fun ideas for a day away from packing:
- Go camping at Lake Hartwell. Whether you’re looking for a day trip to fish, hike or picnic, or if you need a weekend getaway with the family, Lake Hartwell is the place for you. There are campsites, cabins, miles of hiking opportunities, and lots of fishing holes and places to explore!
- Take a tour of the South Carolina plantations. Learn about the checkered, but storied history of America’s plantations by touring some locations right in Anderson County. If that interests you, the Asthabula Plantation and Woodburn Plantation are good places to start! Each site features original homes built more than 200 years ago that have been restored and are fully functional. You can tour the homes, both public and private, and experience the history of the local area.
- Take the kids to Split Creek Farm. This unique dairy farm specializes in goat products! See how the animals are raised and get a hands-on look at the day-to-day life of the goat farmers. The farm also hosts workshops and local art exhibits throughout the year.
- Have a drink at the Palmetto Distillery. This microbrewery produces legal moonshine and whiskey. Visitors can tour the distillery and learn how the distilling process works, then taste test afterward!
