Columbus has a variety of local attractions for everyone's enjoyment. You can visit the Andrew Jackson Higgins Memorial which features a life-sized replica of a Higgins Boat with bronze statues of soldiers walking out into the sand. There are also sand samples from more than 58 beaches of historic significance. The site also houses the Freedom Memorial, which incorporates steel from the remains of the World Trade Center from the September 11th attacks.

If you're a horse racing fan, you can go to Agricultural Park where races are going on from the end of July to the middle of September.

Don’t miss seeing Gulr’s Tavern. It was built in 1976 and is still in operation! It’s on the National Register of Historic Places.

For outdoor fun, try the Pawnee Plunge Water Park, or any of the numerous walking/hiking/biking trails. There’s plenty of hunting and fishing opportunities in the area as well!

Family fun can take place with bowling, golf courses, city parks, and even the Platte County Museum.
