Programs, Resources, & Services provided at Eglin AFB

Many services are provided directly on base for the added convenience of service members and their families. Expect to find helpful resources, services, and programs like the Army Career and Alumni Program which is available to help transitioning soldiers, family members, and Department of Army with a variety of job service needs. Other services found on base include the Army Community Service, Dental Clinic (operating between 7:15-4:00pm Monday thru Friday for all your dental needs), Education and Training Services, Retiree Services, Veterinary Treatment Facility, and many more.

Eglin AFB has a long history and extreme pride in their Honor Guard – a 30 man team that performs in more than 500 ceremonies yearly. The primary duty of the Honor Guard is to provide unfaltering, dignified military funeral honors for all veterans, active duty, and retired Airman whom have all served our nation with honor. In conjunction with that, the guard also supports other events like military retirements, memorials, banquets, etc. The Airmen are placed on a 6 month rotation as ceremonial guardsmen and are assigned solely to the Honor Guard during that time of service.

The base also offers the Eglin Club for social events, fine dining, and special occasions and is known as one of the areas best catering services. The Duke Club (Duke Field Outpost) is open to all military, DOD, civilians, retirees, and dependants and offers daily lunch and after hours activities in the lounge. The Eglin Hospital (accredited by the Joint Commission) serves more than 83,000 eligible beneficiaries yearly, and as a teaching hospital, it has an active residency program in dentistry and family practice medicine.

The base also provides ample opportunity for furthering your education with on-base colleges/universities like Northwest Florida State College, University of West Florida, Troy University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Southern and the University of Florida Research and Education Engineering Facility to name a few.

Recreation and other activities at Eglin AFB

On base, members and their families can join the Yacht Club and Dive Flight where you can sail a day away or scuba dive your way to the bottom of the ocean. Family campgrounds are also available near Bear Creek Marina. Don’t forget about the Eglin Golf Course complete with 36 holes of championship golf.
