North County Transit District offers residents Sprinter light rail train service between Oceanside and Escondido.  These services are available Monday-Friday 4:00 am to 9:00 pm and Saturday/Sunday 10:00am to 6:00pm. Sprinter also connects other area transportations providers such as: Coaster, Breeze Buses, Metrolink and more!  San Diego International Airport is located only 40 minutes from the city for all your flight needs.

Described as the perfect Mediterranean climate, San Marcos is known for its mild winters and warm to hot summers.  The warmest month is August with an average high temperature of 89 degrees.  January is the coolest month with an average low temperature of 43 degrees.  The average yearly rainfall is less than 14 inches with the most occurring in February. That’s not too bad!

Getting an education in San Marcos. If you’re moving to San Marcos and looking to further your education, you can choose between California State University San Marcos and Palomar College.  Both schools offer excellent degree plans in a variety of disciplines.
