Trailer or ReloCube – What’s Best for My Move?

U-Pack offers two types of equipment for moving long distance: the moving trailer and the ReloCube.

Because you only pay for the space you use, either type of equipment works for any size move. But, some situations certainly call for one or the other. Let’s take a look at the details of both types to help decide the best fit for your move.

U-Pack Trailer Move

The external dimensions of the trailer are 28ft x 8ft x 9ft (lwh), and internal dimensions are 324in x 96in x 108in. It stands about 48in off the ground and is equipped with a ramp for both loading and unloading.

The loading space inside a trailer is approximately 1,944 cubic feet—making it equivalent in size to a 26-foot and 10-foot rental truck combined. Most people find that when loaded properly the full trailer will hold the contents of a 3 to 4 bedroom home.

While the trailer is ideal for larger moves, it’s also great for small moves and moves where flexibility is a must. The price is based on the linear footage your shipment occupies inside the trailer. So, if you’re moving a studio-size apartment and use only 5 linear feet, you only pay for 5 linear feet (the minimum space). Your moving quote includes a per-foot adjustment rate that you can add or subtract to calculate your final price.

U-Pack ReloCube Move

The dimensions of the ReloCube are 6ft 3in x 7ft x 8ft 4in externally (lwh) and 70in x 82in x 93in internally. They sit flat on the ground for easy loading and unloading, and they fit easily into a single parking space.

U-Pack ReloCube dimensions

The loading space inside a ReloCube is approximately 306 cubic feet, and when loaded properly, one Cube will typically hold one room of furnishings. They’re ideal for small moves, but they’re also a great option for larger moves where parking is an issue. You can reserve as many Cubes as you think you’ll need, but pay for only those you use.
