Getting Around St. Louis

Education in St. Louis

If you’re moving from Houston to St. Louis with school age children, they’ll be moving from a city with 17 different school districts with a combined enrollment of over 700,000 students to a city with one school district with an enrollment of over 25,000 students. So, they should have an easy transition into St. Louis’s schools! Saint Louis Public Schools provides public education to the city and consists of 47 elementary schools, 11 middle schools, 15 high schools and six alternative schools. St. Louis is also home to Saint Louis University and Washington University in St. Louis! 

Things to Do in St. Louis

When moving from Houston to St. Louis, you’ll quickly learn that St. Louis offers fun things to do for everyone! One of the first things to do when you move is take a ride to the top of the famous Gateway Arch, which is the world’s tallest national monument! And be sure to check out the museum that’s under the Arch!

If you love sports, definitely go see the St. Louis Cardinals of the MLB, the St. Louis Blues of the NHL or the St. Louis Rams of the NFL! However, if you prefer the performing arts, be sure to check out the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra at the Powell Symphony Hall, the Fabulous Fox Theatre, the Opera Theatre of St. Louis and the Sheldon Concert Hall!

For a fun, family day, visit the Saint Louis Science Center, a fun interactive museum that’s open every day and the Saint Louis Zoo, considered to be one of the best zoos in the country! Both places are free of charge! You’ll never run out of things to do in St. Louis!
