Oprah’s own Harpo Studios were based in the city for many years. Other forms of entertainment, such as touring Broadway shows, opera and ballet, all have strong representation in Chicago, too.

When it comes to sports, Chicago simply can’t be beat. The city is home to some of the most popular athletic teams in the country. The Chicago Bears play in the NFL and regularly attract over 60,000 people to their home games on Solider Field. The famed Wrigley Field, meanwhile, is home to the MLB’s Chicago Cubs, who’ve been playing in the city since 1870. Not to be outdone, there is also the MLB team the Chicago White Sox, which also bring in thousands of fans and have participated in the three World Series. The Chicago Blackhawks are one of the successful ice hockey clubs in the country, having captured five Stanley Cups since their 1926 inception. The Chicago Bulls are even more successful, with a whopping six NBA Championships over the years. Women’s basketball fans will enjoy attending Chicago Sky games, and soccer supporters will have to check out the sizzling Chicago Fire!
