What’s the weather like?

Raleigh also provides education to school-aged children through the Wake County Public School System. The School System continually earns high marks and is among the nation’s leaders in end-of-course and proficiency tests, SAT scores and other performance-measuring criteria. 

What job opportunities are there in Raleigh?

Chicago is among the nation’s leaders for labor opportunities, but Raleigh has job choices, too! The city is a center for biotech and research and Forbes ranks it as the second best place in the country for business and careers. Other major industries in the city include finance, medicine, IT, education and retail. 

What are some fun things to do?

If you’re looking for entertainment, Raleigh has plenty of that, as well. Much like Chicago, there are plenty of things to do: enjoy outdoor activities at one of the city’s parks, take a trip to one of the city’s museums or art galleries, or see a show at the Durham Performing Arts Center. If you’re into sports, the student athletes at the nearby campuses of Duke, North Carolina and North Carolina State all compete in men’s and women’s sports. Raleigh also has professional teams in soccer, hockey and minor league baseball.
