Compared to Charleston County School District’s enrollment of over 45,000 students, this can seem much larger. Jacksonville is also home to a number of private schools as well as Florida State College at Jacksonville, the University of North Florida and Edward Waters College.

If you love the arts, Jacksonville is home to the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts which includes the Jacoby Symphony Hall where the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra performs, the Terry Theater which has smaller shows and recitals, and the Jim & Jan Moran Theater where touring Broadway shows perform! Also, check out the historical Ritz Theatre which regularly has music, dance, theatrical performances and movies, and the Florida Theatre which opened in 1927 and still holds many events today!
