Wilmington’s Riverwalk is a main attraction and boasts a mile long boardwalk in the historic downtown area and is full of shops, dining spots, a farmer’s market, and entertainment venues.  Wilmington’s historic district is one of the nation’s largest encompassing nearly 300 blocks.  The city also supports a very active calendar of theater and performing arts entertainment options.  The Thalian Hall Center for Performing arts hosts 250 events annually and has been in continuous operation since it opened in 1858!  Other venues in the area include: The Red Barn Studio, Level 5 at City Stage, Opera House Theater, The Brown Coat Pub & Theater, and The Cape Fear Playhouse.
