After a visit to the Michigan area, two brothers returned to their home in Lansing, NY and sold plots of Michigan land to the locals. The buyers traveled to their new land in Michigan, only to find it under several feet of water—it was located in a flood zone. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, many decided to stay and make it work. They named the area "Lansing Township" after their home in New York. And, by all accounts, it was a success, considering that Lansing has grown into a thriving metropolis.

Weather
Lansing’s weather is heavily influenced by the Great Lakes. Winters are cold with heavy snowfall, and summers are warm and humid. The average daily temp I the summer is around 70 F, while the January averages at 47 F. Snowfall averages about 49 inches, so be sure to get the sled!

Education
Located in neighboring East Lansing, you’ll find Michigan State University! The university offers more than 200 programs and has three medical schools, a law school and many PhD programs. Lansing Community College is also available to area residents.

The Lansing School District has three high schools, four middle schools, and three elementary schools. There are also five magnet schools within the district, as well as many private schools.

I am happy with my move even though it wasn’t a big one which tells me that the ABF people even care about the small jobs. Stephanie and Raul were prompt and professional with the information. You have a good IT System. In Lansing, Chris (dispatcher) and Jerry the driver were on-the-ball and professional. Same thing in Florida especially Bobber the driver. They should all be singled out and given my THANKS!!
