In the course of a year, more than half of all Army newcomers will be trained here. Even though Fort Benning and the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence is one of the Army’s busiest installations, the services and needs of its members do not go unnoticed. The Villages of Benning provide housing on base for its members and consists mostly of renovated and new homes all providing a variety of floor plans for service members and their families. For families with school age children grades K-8, there are a total of 7 schools on base (6 elementary, 1 middle school); the schools are a part of the Georgia Alabama district.

Activities on base

There are also plenty of activities offered on base to keep members and their families entertained all year long. After moving to Fort Benning, the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation offer opportunities for families to enjoy soccer, bowling, fishing, swimming with both indoor and outdoor pools, and archery. The base also has multiple fitness centers, Game Link (XBox 360 gaming lounge), and the Fort Benning Golf Course. You won’t even have to leave base with other convenient services available like your favorite restaurants, which include Pizza Hut, El Zaporta Mexican Restaurant, Taco Bell, Church’s Chicken, Starbucks, Baskin Robbins, and so many more.
