One of the most recent companies to pack up their moving trailers is Uline - a packaging product firm. The site reports that by moving across the border and into a bigger facility, the company was able to consolidate its four expanding corporate offices into a single location.
Helping sweeten the deal is a total of $4.2 million in various grants from local and state officials to help with the construction and relocation process.
"We were tired of moving and we wanted to get enough property so we wouldn't have to move," Elizabeth Uihlein, the company's president, told the site.
Most of the company's employees will also be moving to the new location, the site reports.
The state also has a number of business-friendly characteristics which contradict its reputation. According to a recent study by CNBC, Wisconsin ranked in the top half of the country in six different categories including quality of life and cost of living.
