If you are a sports fan who is considering moving to New England, you have many options at your disposal. Whether you want big city living, or a smaller area with a local minor league team, there is something there for you. This incentive may be exactly what you need to get your moving boxes, relocate and enjoy the new area.

Boston
The Hub is one of the biggest sports cities in the country, and it is the center of sports in New England. Boston has four professional sports teams, with three of them located inside the city, and one just outside. Within the city limits are Major League Baseball's Red Sox, the National Basketball Association's Celtics and the National Hockey League's Bruins. Both the Bruins and Celtics play in the TD Garden, while the Red Sox play in Fenway Park. Just outside of the city is the National Football League's Patriots, which plays in Gillette Stadium, located in Foxboro.

Bridgeport, Connecticut
In Southern Connecticut, just west of New Haven is Bridgeport. Sports are big in the Nutmeg State, despite there being no major professional team. The city is the home of two major teams: the American Hockey League's Sound Tigers and the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball's Bluefish. The South Tigers, a minor league affiliate of the New York Islanders, play at the Arena at Harbor Yard, while the Bluefish play at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

Pawtucket, Rhode Island
Rhode Island is the home of a few minor league teams, but the most popular may be located in Pawtucket. The city is the home of the International League's Red Sox, the AAA affiliate of Boston's team. McCoy Field is the home of the team, who are known by the locals at the "PawSox."

Portland, Maine
Heading up to Maine will give you more than just great seafood. Portland has some great sports options, and you can have some great nights out enjoying the local teams. The city is the home of the Eastern League's Sea Dogs, the AA affiliate of the Red Sox, and play at Hadlock Field. It is also the home of the American Hockey League's Pirates, who play at the Cumberland County Civic Center. The NBA D-League also has a team in the city, as the Maine Red Claws play at the Portland Exposition Building.
