When you are planning a move to Utah, you may find a number of things to do with both you and your family. These options can vary greatly, but finding something everyone can enjoy may be easy. Specifically, Salt Lake City is filled with many different places that may be of interest to you, and you don't just have to hang around the lake. Salt Lake City Light Rail
One of the more recent constructions in may be one of the most fun ways to see the city. According to Fox News, the Salt Lake City Light Rail is a free option where you can see the downtown section of the city. It was built for the Olympics when they visited in 2002, and from it you can view a number of great locations such as the City Creek Center and even Energy Solutions Arena.

Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge
While the city can be fun, it may be a good idea to check out some of the wildlife that Utah has to offer, as well. One way to do this that may be great is by paying a visit to the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. This venue is less than one hour north of the city, and according to Lonely Planet, has approximately 74,000 acres of space. There are birds from all over the world there, and the best time to see them all may be during the autumn.

Utah Museum of Contemporary Art
If you are a fan of the arts, then it is likely you will want to check out the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. This is a popular venue, as it has a number of exhibits from local artists, according to Fox News. This museum has an event once a month that caters to families specifically, and it allows people to get pointers from accomplished artists while completing a project. With many awards to its name, it could be a great option when trying to experience some contemporary art in the region.

Miller Motorsports Park
Racing fans may want to check out another popular locale just outside of the city. Approximately 30 minutes away is Miller Sports Park. According to Lonely Planet, this park has plenty of activities, and was initially constructed by Larry Miller, the former owner of the National Basketball Association's Utah Jazz. While you can watch some racing at this location, there is also a way to be a part of it. Plenty of go-kart racing is available here, while you and your family can even participate in a zip line. Some of the more involved racing activities are also possible, but you will want to contact the venue for more information.

City Creek Center
If shopping is more of your thing, it may be smart to check out the City Creek Center. This is a spot that has plenty for those who like shopping outside. According to Fox News, it is the home of a sizable number of shops, as well as a stream in the middle of the venue. There are approximately 100 retail locations inside the center, and it is open six days a week. It is also a place that is close to a residential development, as well.
