Fans of art may want to start their journey in the city by visiting the Indianapolis Museum of Art. This has more than 150 acres with plenty of different exhibits, according to the museum's website. There are approximately 54,000 pieces at this venue, and some date back as far as 5,000 years. The many options could keep you and your family here for a while, and may even make you want to come back often to ensure you see everything.

Another spot that could be interesting to check out is the Indianapolis City Market. This is because it offers a wealth of options for you when it comes to food and drink. According to the market's website, this location opened more than 100 years ago, and offers plenty of restaurants, stores and other similar facilities. This was initially just a spot that had a number of different natural foods available, but has developed into much more. White River State Park
If you want to check out what Indianapolis offers for leisure, then travel to White River State Park. This could be the perfect location for you to relax and have some fun with your family. There are 250 acres of space here, and according to the park's website, there are several things to do here including concerts, museums and seasonal events. However, if you just want to enjoy the outdoors, there are plenty of opportunities for that. The park has plenty of places to go for a walk or hike and hang out near the water.

Museums are popular in Indianapolis, and if you want to go to one that your young children can enjoy, it may be a good idea to check out one specific spot in the city. Travel over to the Children's Museum Indianapolis, which has nearly 473,000 square feet of space to roam and explore 120,000 items, according to the museum's website. There is also a giant Chihuly glass sculpture here that could be one of the more unique aspects of the location. Many of the exhibits are interactive, which can make it even more fun for the kids.

Soldiers and Sailors Monument
Another fixture in the city that may be a necessary visit is next to the Colonel Eli Lilly Civil War Museum. According to the Indiana Government website, the main fixture of this area is the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, which not only honors fallen soldiers from the state, but has a number of different art features to it. It is possible to travel up the structure and see the city from the top of the monument, as well. This structure is nearly as tall as the Statue of Liberty, which may make it even more attractive of a destination in the city.
