Some states better for business than others

CEOs ranked California poorly in terms of business locations.

CEOs ranked California poorly in terms of business locations.

If a person is moving to start a business or thinking of relocating theirs, they may want to consider a few key areas.

The best and worst states to own a business were released in a recent survey from Chief Executive Magazine. This annual list found that Texas (ranked first), Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina were the best places to move to if a person wanted their company to thrive.

This annual survey of CEOs from all over the country said that Michigan, New York, New Jersey, California and Massachusetts should go straight to the bottom of the list. The states were graded based on factors such as quality of workforce, taxation and regulation, as well as living environment.

One CEO respondent told the magazine that "California is terrible" and "the most difficult state in the nation." This person added that "we have actually walked away from business rather than deal with the government in Sacramento."

When going to a particular area to relocate a person's business, affordable options for moving companies or truck rentals should be looked into in order to bring down the cost.ADNFCR-3450-ID-19876698-ADNFCR
