One of the best areas in the country for them would be Austin, Texas. Kiplinger recently named it among one of the top 10 great cities for young adults. The unemployment rate is remarkably low and there is a great music scene, with two huge yearly festivals. Living here is cheaper than in most other big cities and the average income is over $41,000 a year.
Charlotte, North Carolina also made Kiplinger's list. This city "has seen explosive growth over the last 20 years" and houses a number of different financial institutions for those looking for jobs in the field. Chicago gets top ranking as well, with the average annual income coming in at more than $45,000. It costs half as much to live there than in Manhattan, and there is an excellent public transportation system.
When relocating after college to begin a new life, some recent graduates may want to consider renting a moving truck or a portable storage unit. These are cheaper alternatives to hiring a company to do the work for them.
