The number one city the website put on the list is New York City, which they say is the home of "Silicon Alley," and "continues to push forward with its start-up community."
San Francisco, voted second best on the survey, was cited for having Twitter and Craigslist calling the city home as a main draw to young entrepreneurs, while Austin, ranked third, attracts the younger crowd due to a similar technology market as San Francisco but has much lower living costs.
Other cities at the top of the list, according to Under30CEO, include Boston, Denver, Chicago and San Diego.
According to CNN research conducted in 2010, the top three small cities to live in last year were Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Columbia, Maryland and Newton, Massachusetts. The list was based on quickest median commute time, highest median home sales price and highest median family income.
