According to the Boston Herald, Suleman is famous for giving birth to octuplets in January 2009 after already mothering six children, all the result of in-vitro fertilization. The house is spacious enough to accommodate Suleman's large family, but the famous mother owes $450,000 to the owner of the home who continues to threaten to evict her and her family.
In an interview with the news source, Amer Haddadin, the note holder of the home, said he has been trying to persuade Suleman to sell the house all summer, and the Octomom put the unit up for sale without consulting Haddadin.
The house was purchased in 2009 by Suleman's father for $565,000, and has recently become a local celebrity spot for curious onlookers to catch a glimpse of the famed mother of 14 children, the news source reported. However, in recent months Suleman's popularity has died down and the random visitors have started to taper, next door neighbor Cindy Krueger said.
The La Habra community in Orange County, California, currently has an average home listing price of $354,303, with a total of 162 home sales for the month of September, down 10.5 percent from September 2010. While Suleman's house is listed well above the community's average listing price, the home has still lost equity since it was purchased in 2009.
