Consumers are always on the lookout for how to reduce their carbon footprint, and one Colorado man did just that when he changed residences.
When Jeff Pedelty decided to move from one home to another, he decided a moving truck was completely unnecessary, according to real estate website ThePeloton.com. All this person needed was his bicycle and a moving trailer
Pedelty and a group of cyclist friends hitched moving trailers
to the back of their bikes and transported all of his belongings to the new residence, ThePeloton.com said. The group successfully moved a television, bed, and cabinets among other items 3.7 miles. Pedelty's move was recorded by a videographer, and the documentary will be shown at the Boulder Film Festival on Bike to Work Day.
Pedelty moved to a Boulder community that focuses on sustainable living, the real estate website said.
Boulder has built quite the reputation as a environmentally-friendly city. The city uses smart grid technology in a large number of homes that allows consumers to monitor and control their energy consumption, ABC news said.
