Manhattan may be a good destination when looking for a social destination.
If you are young and looking for a new place with new people, there are many places around the country that may give you just that opportunity. City life is perfect for these opportunities, and whether in the city itself, or on the outskirts, you may find what you need.
Before you start packing and contact your moving company, you should take a good look at some options around the country. A report from Coldwell Banker showed some great destinations that may help you find that perfect opportunity.
Do you prefer a busy nightlife with a seemingly endless number of restaurants and things to do? Manhattan is likely a good choice. However, if you prefer an area with a unique landscape, fewer skyscrapers and many tourism destinations, San Francisco may be the right place.
"Americans believe that their home is a reflection of their identity and that clearly goes beyond the property line and into the communities where they live," said Budge Huskey, president and chief operating officer for Coldwell Banker Real Estate. "Social Seekers are drawn to the nightlife and action, while others we will explore in the series might prefer backyard barbecues and carpooling."
Not every social destination is a major city, itself. Brookline, Massachusetts, is right on the edge of Boston, and has both urban and suburban options, as well as a wide variety of shopping and restaurant options. If you like the city, it's right next door. Another similar option is Arlington, Virginia. This city can give you a more subdued experience, with Washington, D.C., only a short ride away.
Wherever you decide to go, make sure that it fits your budget and that you are ready for the transition and know what you can comfortably bring with you. Your moving company may be able to help you decide in that department.
