Just to clear up some confusion, the portable storage containers U-Pack offers for moving and storage are called ReloCubes® – the containers that PODS® provides are called, well... PODS® containers. While they share some similarities (i.e. container is delivered to your home, you load, container is delivered to your new home, you unload – and storage is available) there are definitely some differences in the U-Pack service and PODS®.

What's so great about moving containers?
When you're talking about U-Pack moving containers – ReloCubes – there are several things:

Always looking for a deal
It seems like everyone is looking for the cheapest moving truck rentals these days. And why wouldn't they? Penny pinching is what's "cool" right now. I would wager a bet that if you picked up a magazine from a news stand today, you would find a helpful article titled something like: "Ways to save", "Top 10 things you can do to cut back", or "20 painless money-saving tips".

Gone are the days where your storage options were limited to packing everything and moving it into your relative's garage or into a rental truck to unload in the storage facility across town. Now there's portable storage. So much easier *sigh*. Now you just load and unload it once – and your relatives don't have to look at it in their garage.

Remember the days when you chose a service based exclusively on brand name and price? Not the case anymore, is it? Now, it's much more about the consumer, and much less about the company. It's nice that every customer has a voice and a forum to use it. That's the way it should be.

Working for a moving service makes me overly conscious of what questions should be asked when choosing moving companies. It's kind of like how mechanics know what to look for when your car doesn't run and how realtors know what to do to sell your house quickly – when it's what you do, it's what you know.
So, I try to put myself in the shoes of the person who has never moved before - just to consider all the questions that surface when choosing moving companies.
Here's the beginning of my list of questions people ask (and my answers)
feel free to add more!

Determining the Cost of Your Move
With U-Pack it's simple to determine the cost of your move. We simply base the moving cost on where you're moving from and to, how much moving trailer space or number of ReloCubes you use and your move date.

True, a lot of people live in standard-size houses and can easily figure out how much trailer space or how many ReloCubes they'll need using just a simple space estimator or truck rental conversion chart. Also true, many people don't. And when you don't, it can be a challenge to figure out how much space you'll need.

Military Move with U-Pack
When you're doing a military move, it can sometimes be a "hurry up and wait" affair. You may know that you're moving from Camp Pendleton in two weeks, but not know where. You might also know that you'll be moving to Fort Campbell, but have no idea when. This can create quite a problem with most moving companies. It's easy to get movers in Fort Hood, Texas but if you find your destination is Fort Greely, Alaska they may not be so readily available – then you're out of luck.

OK, so you just bought a new house involving a cross-country move and you got a great deal on a rental truck. Sure
you have to drive it. But it's cheap. Here's the bummer though – the sellers won't agree to let you move in early and you don't have anything to do with your things during the "in between" time of moving out of your old place and into the new.
