Navigating a move from New Orleans

At every turn, New Orleans, Louisiana is full of charm. From the historic buildings to the culture, it’s a place to celebrate. However, those same historic streets can pose a challenge when moving. From narrow one ways to low-hanging wires, it can be tough to navigate a rental truck through some of the areas — which is why the move is best left to an experienced moving service who knows the area. U-Pack not only knows New Orleans (we have a local service center in Jefferson), but we also service all 50 states, Canada and Puerto Rico with over 240 service centers.

It’s a self-moving service, so you do the packing and loading, but we handle all of the transportation. Whether you’re moving a state away or across the country, we can get you there quickly and affordably. Take a closer look at how U-Pack works to learn more.

Take a break in the Big Easy

When you want to step away from the packing, you don’t have to look far. New Orleans is known for entertainment and fun! These attractions may normally be for tourists, but if you’ve never done them, now’s the time! Explore your city before you move:

  • Ride the street cars. You’ve seen them all over town, and maybe you regularly ride. But did you know that the St. Charles Streetcar line is the oldest continuously operating streetcar line in the world? It’s been traveling through town since 1835. If you’ve never traveled the entire thing, go for a ride to see everything from the Garden District to Canal Street, Loyola, Tulane and more!
  • Stroll through Audubon Park. This is a great place to stretch your legs and get some fresh air. There are 350 acres to explore, including the famed Audubon Zoo which has exhibits of everything from exotic animals to local alligators.
  • See Mardi Gras World. You’ve probably seen the Mardi Gras floats during the actual festivities, but here you can see where they’re made! During a tour you can even try on some amazing Mardi Gras costumes for a snapshot to remind you of your Nola home.
  • Ride a fan boat. Hit the bayou in this unique swamp vehicle. While these may be a hit with visitors, they are a great way to see the area from the water. These boats have flat bottoms and no underwater propellers, making them ideal for navigating the tall grass in the swamps. You might even see some wildlife, like gators or cranes while you’re out on the water.
