Good moving supplies can make moving easier. Boxes designed for moving are just the right size and made of heavier cardboard. They can be purchased online and shipped directly to your door. They usually arrive collapsed but are easy to assemble.

For lidded boxes push down the center portion and insert the tabs. For regular boxes, just fold in the flaps and strap tape across the bottom seam, then fill and tape the tops seam. A good tape gun makes quick work of assembling and closing boxes. Specialty boxes are available such as dish packs, wardrobe boxes and mirror boxes. Pack glasses into dish packs using the special dividers for glasses and pieces of cardboard or bubble wrap between plates.

Bubble wrap provides excellent cushioning and is perforated for convenience. Use it to wrap individual items to prevent rubbing. Then pack it into boxes around items for extra cushioning.

Wrap Padded paper and bubble wrap around furniture legs to prevent scratching. Place furniture pads between large items as you stack.

A dolly allows you to maneuver heavier items and several boxes at a time.

Finally, secure your load with rope to prevent it from shifting in transit. Never rely on a bulkhead. They are not designed for shifting, only separation.
