Guaranteed Delivery Dates Among Service Enhancements Instituted By U-Pack®

(FORT SMITH, Ark., April 11, 2007) – ABF U-Pack Moving® has implemented a series of service enhancements, including guaranteed delivery dates and expedited transit backed by a 100 percent customer service guarantee. Additional service improvements include expanded storage options, trailers equipped with loading ramps, and longer loading and unloading times.

"At U-Pack®, we listen to what our customers say and continually improve our service. Consumers today want more control and less expense when it comes to moving their household goods. With this year’s improvements, U-Pack has again made moving more convenient, less stressful and more affordable," says Andrew Schweizer, U-Pack senior manager.

"Rental ramps have always been available to U-Pack movers. Now, however, all trailers are equipped with loading ramps at no extra charge. Plus, the U-Pack Box Store has added an affordable line of collapsible dollies for purchase. Customers also now have three days to load and another three days to unload once their goods are delivered—allowing ample time to load and unload at a pace that fits their moving schedule. Likewise, new storage options offer flexibility for all U-Pack customers, whether moving via ReloCube™ or trailer," says Schweizer.

ABF® is a business-to-business transporter of general commodities. In 1997, the carrier began offering its shipping services directly to consumers via U-Pack Moving. Typically, ABF delivers a 28-ft trailer to the customer's home and charges only for the space used. For smaller moves, ABF delivers a self-contained shipping and storage unit called a ReloCube. A ReloCube is big enough for a room's worth of furnishings and fits neatly into a parking space. In doing so, U-Pack introduced an alternative means of moving residential belongings cross country. U-Pack combines the professional driver and equipment of a traditional full-service mover with the cost savings of a rental truck.
