New York is a popular sporting destination.

If you love sports, you may consider an area with a number of teams to bring your moving containers. There are many of these around the country, with different options, depending on what aspects of the sporting world excite you.

New York
The Big Apple is a hot spot for sports, as it has representatives of all four major sports, as well as multiple collegiate options. The city is home of the Rangers and Islanders, both who play in the National Hockey League. There is also the New Jersey Devils, as this franchise plays in nearby Newark. The National Basketball Association's Knicks and Nets play in Manhattan and Brooklyn, respectively, as well. Major League Baseball has two franchises in the city. The Yankees play in the Bronx, while the Mets play in Queens.

While there aren't any members of the National Football League within city limits, the Jets and Giants play in MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which is just a few minutes outside of the city.

For college options, you can watch NCAA Division I sports at St. John's University, Fordham University and Columbia University. Rutgers University is also a short drive away in New Jersey.

Los Angeles
While there is no representative of the NFL in Los Angeles, there are still many options available to you. The city has two members of the NBA, as the Lakers and Clippers both play at the Staples Center. Another tenant of the arena is the National Hockey League's Kings. The MLB has one team here, as the Dodgers play at Dodger Stadium. The Los Angeles Angels play nearby in Anaheim.

There are many college teams in the area, as the city is the home to the University of Southern California, University of California, Los Angeles. California State University, Northridge is also located in the city, as well as Loyola Marymount University.

Detroit
The city of Detroit has many options, and if you prefer living in the Great Lakes Region, this may be a perfect spot. The area is home to the NFL's Lions, Major League Baseball's Tigers, the NHL's Red Wings and the NBA's Pistons.

The University of Detroit Mercy plays Division I sports, and is located right in the city. There is also the University of Michigan, which is located nearby in Ann Arbor.

New Orleans
If Gulf Coast living is more for you, the city of New Orleans has two professional sports teams, as well as multiple college teams in the area. The NFL's Saints play at the Superdome, while the NBA's Hornets play at New Orleans Arena.

College sports are big in the south, and New Orleans and its surrounding area offer many schools. For NCAA Division I sports, the city is the home of Tulane University, as well as the University of New Orleans. Both Louisiana State University and the University of Louisiana-Lafayette are not too far from the city.

Washington, D.C.
The nation's capital has many teams in the area, which may make it even more of an attractive destination. It is the home of the NBA's Wizards, the NHL's Capitals and MLB's Nationals. The NFL's Redskins are not far away, while Baltimore, and its many teams, is also a short drive from the city.

If you want college sports, the district is the home of Georgetown University, American University, Howard University and The George Washington University.
