The Great Plains is known for meat, but one area is beginning to come around to vegan fare in a big way. Kansas City is gaining many vegans, and with them, many vegan eateries, according to VegNews. With more vegan businesses increasing around the city, people are able to get the food they want, including some places that will deliver, as well. While it still is considered by many to be the land of barbecued meat, places such as Eden Alley are making it a bit easier for vegans to get what they want.

PETA suggests visiting multiple eateries, such as HanGawi, a Korean restaurant in Midtown, as well as Caravan of Dreams, which is located in the East Village. With New York's reputation of being places for those who don't mind being up late, this could be a great place for those who want to order in. New York City is filled with vegan take-out, and it could make the whole process easier. Whether you are in Manhattan, or in one of the other boroughs, you won't be short of great vegan options.

Dallas
Like Kansas City, the thought of widespread vegan cuisine may not necessarily come to mind when thinking about Texas. Luckily, if you are thinking on getting your belongings together and relocating to the Lone Star State, there are plenty of options available. One of these spots is Dallas. The city is has its own vegan organization named Dallas Vegan, VegNews explained. It also is the home of a vegan-centric event known as the Texas State Veggie Far. These resources and events could be critical when trying to adjust to the new city.

Washington, D.C.
There's also plenty to do in the nation's capital when it comes to eating vegan. Washington, D.C., has many restaurants in and around the city that may make you feel more at home while living here. PETA noted that there is a renowned restaurant in Falls Church, Virginia, named Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant. This could be a great starting point on your vegan journey. With the city being so international and multicultural, being a devout vegan here may not be that hard. There's always something that may be just what you want, no matter what meal it is.
