A company that makes diamonds will move its headquarters from Boston to Greenville, South Carolina.

Scio Diamond Technology Corporation announced October 31 it would move its corporate headquarters from Boston to Greenville, South Carolina. Employees who will be moving to the quaint city will encounter a healthy housing market, with an average listing price of $224,907 for the week ending October 19, up 1.1 percent from the previous week, according to Trulia.

"We considered several locations for our corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility,” said Joseph Lancia, president and CEO of Scio Diamond Technology. “It was right here that we found the ideal balance of business-friendly climate, access to talent, entrepreneurial drive and exceptional quality of life. We expect that Greenville County will provide us with the perfect mix of ingredients for success."

The relocation to Greenville will generate 70 new jobs, which will be located in a 9,300-square-foot space in the city's $10 million NEXT Innovation Center, a technology hub that has virtual offices, green construction and advanced technology.

Scio Diamond Technology uses a patented process to make high-quality, single-crystal diamonds in its laboratories. The diamonds are identical to gems found in the earth in their chemical, physical and optical properties.
