After welcoming twins in June 2009, giving them three children, the couple decided moving into a larger home was necessary. Over the past few months, the couple checked out the New York City real estate scene by scoping out multi-million dollar residences, including Madonna's former place - also located in the Central Park West neighborhood, according to the paper.
They ended up settling on philanthropist Laurie Tisch's old apartment, which contains a 32-foot living room with ceilings that reach almost 11 feet high. Additionally, the paper noted that the home has 10 bathrooms and eight bedrooms, including a master bedroom that contains two walk-in closets.
In August, the apartment was listed at $25 million, but clearly that price was too steep for potential buyers, as the eventual selling price dropped $3.5 million, according to the Observer.
The couple and their children will be joining other notable celebrities who had lived in Central Park West, such as Sting and Denzel Washington, according to Triple Mint, a development design company.
