Hotelier Davidson Hotels & Resorts announced a corporate relocation to Atlanta. Marriott is one of the company's large brands.
Davidson Hotels & Resorts, one of the country's biggest independent hotel management companies, announced it will move most functions to a new Atlanta location in summer 2012. Some functions, like accounting, payroll and risk management, will remain at its Memphis office.
Moving trucks may be a more common sight as Davidson makes its move to Atlanta, the fourth largest hotel and hospitality market in the country. CEO John Belden added that the city one of the top 10 cities for corporate relocations.
"By relocating to a gateway city, we provide greater travel options for our associates, and optimize our visibility and accessibility with investors and property owners," he said in a statement. "This will also allow us to aggregate more operational and development resources under one roof, as well as materially enhance our ability to attract the best possible talent in the future."
The average listing price for homes in Atlanta for the week ending October 12 was $367,616, relatively unchanged from the previous week, according to Trulia. The median sales price from July to September 2011 was $182,650, up 2.7 percent from the same period in 2010.
