To determine the best relocation cities, the report looked at a number of economic factors, including the ease of finding a job, the average income level, quality of life and cost of living. In the end, Houston took the top spot in the study, based on its high personal income, low cost of living and strong support for small businesses.
After Houston, other cities listed as positive places for a relocation included Omaha, Nebraska; Dallas, Texas and Washington, D.C.
The nation's job market has continued to struggle in recent months, despite the slowly recovering economy. Statistics from the Department of Labor released today showed that the unemployment rate failed to improve in September, remaining at 9.6 percent as the economy lost approximately 95,000 jobs during the month.
