Before the relocation, the Katy site was home to Cotton executives and the Cotton Foundation's recreational grounds. The Cotton Foundation is dedicated to helping children whose lives have been affected by natural disasters and other life-changing events. The grounds has an area where affected families can have a private retreat and partake in outdoor activities.
The average listing price for Katy homes in the week ending September 28 was $264,814, down 0.1 percent from the previous week, according to Trulia. The median sales price from June to August 2011 was $102,850, up 14 percent from the same period in 2010.
