Omaha has a population of more than 415,000 people, which makes it the largest city in the state of Nebraska. The area is served by Omaha's Metro Area Transit, which provides bus service throughout the city.

The weather can vary greatly in Omaha, which makes it typical of many parts of the Great Plains. The winters are typically cold, while the summers can get quite warm. The average summer high temperature is 87 degrees, while the average winter low temperature is 14 degrees, according to data from The Weather Channel.

College life is quite popular in Omaha, as there are plenty of places of higher education available. Creighton University is located in the city, as well as the University of Nebraska at Omaha. The city doesn't have any professional teams that belong to the four major sports, but there are still many options. This includes a AAA baseball team, the Pacific Coast League's Storm Chasers, which plays in Werner Park in Papillion. The United States Hockey League's Lancers play in the Omaha Civic Auditorium, as well. If you prefer collegiate sports options, there are plenty of these available. Creighton and Nebraska-Omaha play NCAA Division I games in the city, while Nebraska-Lincoln play only a short drive outside of the city.

Summers can be spent at Midtown's Fun Plex, which is the largest waterpark in the Cornhusker State. There is also the CoCo Key Water Resort in the Central part of the city.

There is also the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, which spans over the Missouri River into Iowa. It is the largest bridge of its kind in the country, according to the Omaha Convention & Visitors Bureau.
