A college move requires a lot of help to be efficient.
Once everything has been packed and marked off of the checklist, students and their parents think they have tackled every moving issue they can for the big college move
. However, there is whole other set of issues to deal with once they get to the school's campus.
Moving day is a busy one for college campuses and making it go smoothly can present some challenges. Faulkner University staff have learned how to help their students move their belongings from car to dorm room in an efficient manner, Alabama NBC news affiliate WSFA reported.
This is especially helpful in the blistering August heat, when temperatures can near the triple digits. Faulkner University's Cindy Walker told the news station "As soon as someone pulls up near the door, we have enough people standing there to pick up all their stuff. What we try to do is ask that the parents not have to carry more than one load upstairs." Staff also keep plenty of water and snacks on hand for students, parents and workers.
Parents and students may want to look into using a portable storage unit for the college move. It can free up car space for a more comfortable road trip to school.
