Big Brothers Big Sisters International is one of many companies to recently announce a relocation to the Dallas area.
In a move to pursue international expansion and better support existing affiliates, Big Brothers Big Sisters International announced a corporate relocation to Irving, Texas, from Philadelphia. Moving trucks may be a common sight in the Dallas metropolitan area, as BBBSI is one of many companies that recently announced relocations to the area.
"The large concentration of corporate headquarters, the ease of access to international destinations through DFW International Airport, the exceptional Big Brothers Big Sisters facilities, and the proximity to the nation's largest and most successfully-run Big Brothers Big Sisters agency all proved relevant in our decision to move to north Texas," said chairman of the board Beverly Benz Treuille.
Since 2003, Texas' Lone Star BBBSI agency has increased the number of children served by 274 percent and boosted annual revenues by 292 percent. That growth was under the leadership of the branch's president and CEO Charles Pierson, who recently was named CEO of the international organization.
The average listing price for homes in Irving for the week ending October 12 was $317,971, up 0.2 percent from the previous week, according to Trulia.
