Omaha has many aspects that may make it a great place to raise a family.

If you are thinking about settling down and starting a family with your significant other, there may be specific places around the country that could fit the bill. One of these cities may be for you, and if so, it may be a good idea to start packing and call your moving company to schedule an appointment. Your new life may only be a short trip away.

Burlington, Vermont
Fans of all seasons may love Burlington, as the weather can get warm in the summer, snowy in the winter and the city also has spectacular views of the New England fall foliage. It is a college town, as the city is the home to the University of Vermont, so there are always things to do. Because of this, Parenting.com explained that many former students at the school end up returning to raise families.

There are also great farmers' markets because of the Green Mountain State's rural aspects, the website explained. This could be a great location for those who want to take in the sights and live healthy lives.

Cheyenne, Wyoming
If the West is something that excites you, then you may enjoy Cheyenne. The capital of Wyoming was ranked eighth in the country by Forbes for its commute time, which may make for easy trips to and from work as well as school. Those concerned about education may also like that it was ranked 19th in high school graduation rates. It's cost-of-living was also rated in the top 75.

Omaha, Nebraska
The Great Plains region may also be a great place to set bring your moving containers. Omaha could be a good spot, as it has plenty of attractions that are great for the whole family. One of the locations that may pique your interests is the Omaha Summer Arts Festival, which Parenting.com noted has a specific fair for children. The city is also the home to the Omaha Zoo, which has a large indoor rainforest. This could be a fun spot for both learning and recreation.

If you plan on living in a city with collegiate options for your children, Omaha is the home of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, as well as Creighton University.

Helena, Montana
Another area in the western part of the country that is highly rated for raising a family is Helena. Montana's capital has one of the best commute time rankings in the country, Forbes explained. It also boasts the fifth-best high school graduation rate, which may make you feel more comfortable with the area's school system. The city is not particularly expensive, as the median household income is high and the cost-of-living is in the top-80 in the country.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota
While it may not be on the radar for many people, the city of Sioux Falls has many positives that would make parents comfortable about raising their kids in the area. The city did not experience the economic hits that much of the country did during the recession, Parenting.com noted. Some of the highlights of this area is the strong housing market and low unemployment. The city also has solid commute times, as you can navigate the area in approximately 20 minutes or less.

The city may be healthier than a lot of places around the country, as well. Citing the American Lung Association, the website noted that there is a low level of ozone in the air, which earned the city an "A" air quality rating. There are also lengthy trails for exercise and beautiful sights of the Sioux River and Falls Park.
