Detroit is near some great fishing spots.

If you love to fish, you probably want to relocate to an area that is full of angling opportunities. There are places that have great fishing spots all over the country, so you should explore the many options available. It all depends on the type of fish you like seeking out, as well as the climate and the area. Whether you prefer to hit a lake or river to get the fish you need, or you would rather hang out in the ocean to get some of the larger fish, there may be a spot that is an attractive choice.

If one of the following places seem like a good fit for you, it could be a good opportunity to contact your moving company and have them pick up your moving containers.

Charleston, South Carolina
The Carolinas have plenty of good fishing, so you may find something here that fits your needs. Fishing is quite popular, and according to GQ, the water of the Carolina coastline is filled with redfish. If you haven't caught one of these before, they can get quite big - as large as 50 lbs. Local fishing areas of choice are in the marshes, so you may need a boat to get the best of the Charleston area.

Appleton, Wisconsin
If heading up north is more of your thing, then you may be interested in Appleton. The Wisconsin city is surrounded by some top fishing spots, and the potential catch varies significantly. There are many walleye areas in both the Fox River and Lake Winnebago, Outdoor Life explains. Marsh areas are also popular in Wisconsin, as the city is a short drive from the Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Area. This spot is the largest marsh of its kind in the United States.

Detroit
While you may not immediately think of Detroit as a fishing area, you should. The city is very close to some top fishing areas. One of these places is Lake St. Clair. The lake has a vast number of fish, including many smallmouth varieties, GQ noted. Those of you who want to live in a bass bastion may want to make sure they check out this area.

Venice, Louisiana
The Gulf Coast is well-known for its fishing exploits, and around the Mississippi River may be a good place to start exploring this area. Venice is right there, and it has a luxury of being a place that is filled with bass, Outdoor Life noted. The place is so popular for bass fishing, it actually is the former home of the Bassmaster Classic.

There are plenty of other fish types that can accommodate you in the Venice waters. Not only are bass popular in the area, but speckled trout and redfish also have a notable presence here, the website explained. By taking a boat out into the gulf, you can get a great introduction to some of the larger saltwater fish. This includes swordfish, marlin and sailfish. It is also a hot spot for tuna, as well.

Centerville, Iowa
The Great Plains has some great fishing areas, so you may not want to pass an opportunity up to go here. Centerville is one of these spots, as it is one of the best place to try and grab some fish in Iowa. While many people travel to this area to go hunting, Outdoor Life notes this city has some top fishing. Channel catfish exist all through the local waters, while walleye and perch also frequent this area. If you want to check these fish out, heading to Rathburn Lake may be the perfect destination.
