The nation's capital may be a great place to go job hunting.

If you are looking for a new place to live with job opportunities, there may be many options available. While the economy is in the process of recovery, there are plenty of places that are reaping the benefits and increasing hiring levels.

Depending on where in the country you are looking to move, the places that have a growth of job openings are relatively spread out. Seek out where you think will be a good fit for you, and get ready to bring your moving boxes to these areas. Keep in mind, while you can typically find a job in most parts of the country, some areas specialize in certain aspects, which may influence your decision.

Washington, D.C.
The country's capital may be a good spot to send your moving company. Jobs in the district have a tendency to pay much better than many parts of the company, as the average annual salary is 40 percent higher than the national average, according to research from Kiplinger. This can make the move more attractive.

If you work in finance, this could be the place for you, as nearly 10 percent of all residents do this, the news source explained. There are also many government contractors and other management positions in the city that look for work regularly.

Manchester, New Hampshire
The Northeast typically has a higher cost of living, and this could result in higher salaries. If the cities of Boston, Hartford and Providence are too big, then moving to the Manchester area may be a better choice for you. The city has a low unemployment rate, and actually remained below the national average throughout the recession, Kiplinger noted. This is also a big center for the finance and healthcare industries.

The website also explained that management positions in the city typically have high wages, averaging more than $100,000.

Salt Lake City
The healthcare industry is a popular employment option in Salt Lake City, according to U.S. News and World Report. So if you are in this field and plan to move out west, relocating to this metropolitan area may be a good idea.

Education employment is another popular option in the city. The University of Utah is a large institution and often looks for workers, the news source explained. Other major entities are the state's government offices and the city's airport.

Another city near the nation's capital has well-paying job prospects. Baltimore is the home to Johns Hopkins University, and the institution heads of a sizable medical organization. This is so large that close to 10 percent of the city's population have some connection to it, Kiplinger explained.

There's also significant job opportunities in the life science and defense markets, which could be quite helpful for those looking at multiple different opportunities. In addition, the city is within a short trip of multiple other large metropolitan areas, so travel to another city won't be too difficult.

Oklahoma City
The central part of the country is also a good place to look for good job prospects. Specifically, Oklahoma City may be a good spot to consider. Government jobs are plentiful in the city, and according to U.S. News and World Report, it is the top employer in the area.

There's also many telecommunications opportunities, the news source noted. If you are a communications or tech major just graduated college, you may be in the right spot.
