Speaking to the Atlanta Board of Realtors, the paper says a group of analysts say that the Atlanta market should be very stable in 2011, as home prices begin to grow. They added that a number of new moving families are also helping boost local home sales.
"We're seeing the willingness of the corporations to transfer people, and that is a very expensive proposition, especially if you can't sell the house [in the original market]. Companies would have to buy that house," Kevin Levent, president and CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers, told the paper.
Levent added that his company saw its corporate relocation listings double in the first part of this month, compared to last month's numbers.
One of the companies that has recently started moving into the state is Arch Chemical, which is closing its facility in Connecticut, and offering a relocation package for nearly all of the 43 affected workers to help their self service moving efforts, the Hartford Business Journal reports.
