Today, Zillow.com and Yahoo Real Estate announced they are joining forces to form the largest real estate network on the web, according to Media Metrix Core Reports. With the union, real estate brokers and sales executives will be able to reach more consumers in the housing market by having a greater opportunity to advertise. People planning on moving will benefit as well, as they'll now have a greater pool of potential homes to choose from in one convenient place.
"We're thrilled to be providing agents and brokers with outstanding new opportunities to extend their reach on the largest online real estate network," said Spencer Rascoff, Zillow CEO. "The launch of this partnership will simplify advertising decisions and bring Zillow listings to millions of additional users every month."
This is the companies' most recent real estate venture, their first coming in 2006 when Yahoo incorporated Zillow.com's home valuations system.
The move comes just in time for people using the internet as their primary outlet for real estate research. Yesterday, Google Maps announced it would discontinue its real estate feature starting February 10.
