Tips on selling a home

Typically, before homeowners can plan on moving out of their homes, they first have to sell it to someone willing to buy it. But all too often, sellers can make a move that leads to their property staying on the market for longer than it should.

Zillow.com has recently published some home selling tips that should help people move their property more promptly.

A common mistake people make is pricing their house based on how much it cost them to move into it. Instead, the real estate listing website says people should look at home sales in their area and see what the market rate has been recently. They should then price their own property relative to ones that are similar.

Something else Zillow.com recommends is not following potential buyers around when showing them the house. If possible, the website says it's far better for homeowners to be out of the house and let the real estate agent take care of the sale.

Sellers may also want to see the price range for homes in their cities at large. Trulia.com recently reported some city dwellers looking to sell are more stingy about price cuts than others.
