The 44-year-old Chicago-born singer had the 22,000-square-foot mansion built in 1997. The estate features six bedrooms, eight full and six-half bathrooms and four fireplaces, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Kelly's 16-room residence was recently the center of a $2.9 million foreclosure suit for non-payment of his monthly mortgage for more than a year, which was allegedly an attempt by the singer to force his lender to renegotiate his loan, the Tribune reported.
The home also features an indoor pool, theater room, private lake and a 12-foot wrought iron gate with concrete-encased fencing, the source stated.
"It's a fabulous house with a lot of great features," listing agent James Mattz of Century 21 Pro-Team told Elite Street. "Whoever buys it at the price we're marketing it at is going to get an incredible value."
R. Kelly, whose real name is Robert S. Kelly, is nominated for two 2012 Grammy Awards for his album "Love Letter." The album is nominated for Best R&B Album and his song, "Radio Message," is nominated for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance.
The average value of a home in Olympia Fields is $188,600, according to Zillow.
