A one-time home of jazz pianist Duke Ellington has sold.

Television host Regis Philbin has re-listed a Greenwich, Connecticut, house that did not sell when it was first put on the market in 2008, according to the Danbury News-Times.

In an indication of just how much house prices have fallen in the last three years, the 6,000-square-foot home is currently listed at $3.8 million, down from the $5.9 million 2008 asking price. Philbin's real estate broker, Michele Klossom, told the News-Times the six-acre property includes a tennis court, pool and gazebo.

The Danbury news source describes a TV interview Philbin conducted with a 96-year-old Greenwich resident earlier this year, in which he said he regrets buying at the top of the market.

Even if he sells this house, Philbin will not be relocating to another city. He and his wife already own another home in Greenwich, Klossom says.

While Philbin has been trying to unload his property for years, another celebrity home has sold very quickly, though in this case, it has been decades since the celebrity was in residence.

Multiple real estate websites report a Washington, D.C., rowhouse that jazz great Duke Ellington lived in as a teenager sold within three days of going on the market. The property was listed at $525,000.
